Aplus.Net Ranked in the Top 10 Among Thousands of Web Hosting Companies
Since
founding in 1995, Aplus.Net has been growing both its customer base and revenues
by more than 100 per cent.
The company’s CEO, Ivan Vachovsky, attributes this success to an emphasis on service.
“We put all the effort in servicing the customer. Having toll free numbers for contact 24X7, organized procedures, well-trained staff and good management are all key, as in any business.”
On top of that, Aplus has “an unusually high number of engineers” and a software development division, Rodopi that works hand in hand with the ISP group.
“We pioneered automated provisioning. With our ‘Websolo’ plan we introduced a disclaimer that if it’s not up and running in 15 minutes it’s free. While many companies use this now, our in-house programmers were the first to introduce this along with automatic billing procedures and web panels,” added Vachovsky.
With this penchant for innovation and keen focus on customer satisfaction, it is not surprising that the company boasts a churn rate of less than 2 per cent, well below the industry standard.
While the company has more than 70,000 customers with 90% of revenues generated from shared services, Aplus is seeking to bolster market share and increase capacity in its new state-of-the-art Internet data center launched in April 2001.
“The data center is at about 20 per cent capacity now,” notes Vachovsky. “We are looking at improving in dedicated, E-Commerce and co-location services... we do some managed hosting now but are looking for a solid shift in customer demand before expanding in that area.”
But it is the focus on the small and mid-sized business that has kept the company as one of the leaders in the hosting market.
“Even in the economic downturn, we maintained a strong position. The SME and consumer markets were less impacted. We had very few dot.com customers and didn’t participate in the bubble. We didn’t over build and controlled our spending,” said Vachovsky.
The San Diego-based host has the likes of UCSD, SAIC, Kodak, Space Electronics
and Cardiff Software on its client list.
