Aplus.Net Announces New Features

August 26th, 2003

Complete Internet Presence Provider Offers New Features For Free to Enhance Service Offerings

San Diego, California - August 26, 2003 - Aplus.Net, a leading provider of Internet services, announced today that it has successfully installed Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) servers for outgoing mail and a new spam filtering service.

The SMTP server install allows Aplus.Net customers to send e-mail from any location using their preferred email client, such as Eudora, Outlook or handheld devices. E-mails are routed to their destinations securely, quickly and reliably.

SMTP service has traditionally been supplied by Internet connectivity providers. Unfortunately, many of these providers are now restricting their service to e-mails carrying their domain name like joe_doe@cox.com and rejecting all e-mails coming from other addresses like joe_doe@joe’s_business.com

“Our main objective was to allow our customers to create their own Internet identity and presence,” said Ivan Vachovsky, chief executive officer of Aplus.Net. “The new SMTP service achieves this goal by allowing our customers to distribute e-mail with their own domain name. We are offering this important feature at no extra charge to our valued customers.”

The ability to use a preferred e-mail client allows Aplus.Net customers to maintain their professional identity in e-mail communication at all times. There are several Web Mail services that are well known, but they cannot offer the professional identity in e-mail communication that can be so important to small and medium-sized companies. Another downside of utilizing Web Mail is running the risk of having your e-mail misinterpreted as spam and accidentally deleted.

Aplus.Net’s other recent feature enhancement is a spam filtering service for all of the e-mail accounts served by Aplus.Net. The spam filters are free of charge and are easily set up from a web based control panel.

The spam filters are adaptive and respond to the ever changing environment of unsolicited e-mails. Spam filtering is not an exact science and it’s possible for some legitimate mail to go to spam folders if the filter is set to be very sensitive. For this reason, Aplus.Net gives customers the option to review spam folders before the mail is deleted.

“We’ve put a lot of effort into developing and implementing the most advanced technology and solutions available for both SMTP and spam filtering” said Michael Nieman, vice president of marketing and sales of Aplus.Net. “I believe that our customers will find these enhancements very beneficial.”
