Frequently Asked Questions.

Microsoft SharePoint® services are a type of FrontPage extensions that are NOT currently supported by our servers. Due to the nature of our hybrid Unix/Windows environment as well as security/compatibility issues, we do not support the ability to use SharePoint® services under any circumstances. While SharePoint® is associated to FrontPage extensions it is still possible to build a website using non-SharePoint® services extensions but you will not be able to publish your site if it contains even one item that falls under the SharePoint® category.

When you are working with a published website on an Internet/intranet server, Microsoft FrontPage version 2003 does not automatically delete pages from the server that you have already deleted on your development (local) computer when re-publishing your site. Using the newly Enhanced Publishing Dialog, there are 2 ways you can sync deletes between your published and local sites.

To use enhanced publishing to delete files or folders on the published site, open a new or existing Web in FrontPage 2003 and do the following:

  1. On the File menu, click Publish Web.

  2. In the Publish dialog box, click Options and select the Publish tab.

  3. Under Publish, select the Changed pages only option and click OK.

  4. Click Publish and FrontPage will ask if you want to delete the pages and files that are present on the server, but not in your current Web.

  5. Click Yes to delete the specified file in the prompt or Yes to All to delete all of the files that you deleted from the current Web.

To delete a file or folder on the published site by hand using the Enhanced Publishing Dialog, do the following:

  1. On the File menu, click Publish Web.

  2. In the Publish Web dialog, click the Show>> button to show the contents of the server you’re publishing to.

  3. In the right pane (which displays the files that have been published), select the file you want to delete by clicking it.

  4. Click the X icon above the right pane.
